As we continue our growth across Asia in 2021, we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight 3 hotel properties we look forward to working with in the months ahead.
Capella Bangkok
The Capella Bangkok was one of the most anticipated hotel openings of 2020, and despite the challenges posed from the pandemic, the hotel finally opened its doors in October, and hit the ground running since. In that sense, the property has already been highlighted as the “one to watch” by Luxury Travel Intelligence’s World’s Best New Luxury Hotels 2020, a global top 15 rankings list that also features Banyan Tree Krabi, another Portier Technologies partner.
The hotel sits right on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River, making this our second riverside hotel partner after The Siam which is located on the same river, about 12km north of Capella Bangkok. The property comprises 101 riverview suites and villas and empowers guests to indulge in tranquillity and peace in one of the world’s most hectic cities.
That tranquillity is further boosted by Capella’s outstanding Auriga Spa, and whilst Phra Nakhon takes care of local Thai palates, Cote delivers simple, colourful and generous gourmand cuisine, conceptualized by Three-Michelin star chef Mauro Colagreco.
At Capella Bangkok, the Portier Platform’s central objective will be to deliver a heightened guest experience by amplifying the service levels that Capella staff members already put on display. Guests will then benefit from experiencing the high standards they expect on a digital platform that overcomes physical distances between guests and staff by centralising all aspects of guest engagement on Portier Phones.
Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong
The Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong marks our first waterfront property in Hong Kong, and with 665 rooms, the hotel is also among the largest in the city. What’s more, the property is adjacent to one of the city’s newest mall projects, Harbour North in Hong Kong’s North Point district, making entertainment as convenient as it gets.
The hotel boasts an incredible infinity pool with views of the city’s most famous landmark, Victoria Harbour. Dining options are provided by Cruise and The Farmhouse, and coffee lovers might be positively surprised to see Japanese artisan brand Arabica provide the beans here. For staycationers keen to bring along their pets, you’ll find that the hotel is among those that are pet-friendly.
Given the sheer size of the property, the Portier Platform will mostly be focused on scaling staff service levels without the need to deploy too many individuals. Guests will experience the hotel, its services and regular offers from a single platform, and will get to communicate to staff as and when needed, ensuring a more efficient use of hotel personnel.
Hyatt Regency Bangkok
The Hyatt Regency Bangkok opened its doors to guests in late 2018, and has already become one of the most impressive properties along the city’s famous Sukhumvit Road. This marks Portier Technologies’ third property partner along this stretch of road, and the hotel offers direct access to Bangkok’s skytrain, the BTS (Bangkok Mass Transit System, not the Korean boyband).
The F&B options available to guests include one of Bangkok’s best rooftop bars, Spectrum Lounge & Bar, which offers impressive views of the city’s skyline. Intriguingly, the hotel has high sustainability standards, and unlike many other properties in Bangkok, plastic bottles are a rare sight. With Portier Phones on site soon, printing will also begin to take a backseat and information and the hotel experience will be delivered through our fully digital platform.
Sitting right in the centre of Bangkok’s beautiful chaos, the property will utilise the Portier Platform as a navigation tool to tourists who are “scared” of venturing out into this city without any guidance. Following our deployment, guests will “carry” hotel staff in their pockets and utilise the city guide and chat features to experience Bangkok with confidence. What’s more, guests will benefit from increased efficiency and better discoverability of hotel service, after an exhausting day of exploring.
What to Expect from Portier in 2021
Beyond these highlighted new hotel partners, we will be launching our service with several other hotel properties across Asia, with the biggest set of new partnerships concentrated in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand. During the second half of the year, we’ll also see some acceleration in deployments across some of Europe’s most-visited cities.
As we continue our expansion, 2021 will also be the year of accelerated platform improvements, most of which will be delivered in line with existing partner feedback. If you want to discuss your digital hotel strategy with us, send an email to contact@goportier.com, and we would be excited to highlight the most suitable option for your property.
